Know-Center releases the first reference data set from the EU research project APOSDLE to promote the comprehensibility and generalizability of research findings in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL).
As part of the dataTEL Theme Team, the Know-Center is involved with other European research institutions to standardize research on recommender systems in the field of TEL. The standardization will help to shape the development and evaluation of recommender systems more transparent, and thus to enable the research community a better exchange of research results and accountability.
On the portal of TELEurope recently a list of seven data sets with short descriptions has been published, which also includes the dataset of APOSDLE.

In the course of intensive discussions of various aspects of data protection of the EU project APOSDLE, Know-Center is allowed to publish only one dataset of the evaluation phase of the project. The dataset is available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Austria License and includes log data from a three-month evaluation phase of the system at APOSDLE ISN (http://www.innovation.at/).

Now with the open source version of APOSDLE available, this contributes to the success and value of “Work Integrated Learning (WIL)”.
The APOSDLE Open Source Package contains the APOSDLE Platform, the APOSDLE Client and all tools necessary to install and run APOSDLE. To provide a fast overview of APOSDLE’s variety of features, the package contains two sample domains from the field of innovation management and statistical data.
